Donate to MSU

This winter the MSU Surplus Store and University Development will be teaming up to kick off a new program where personal property donations to the University will be accepted. The items will be sold, with proceeds going to the donor's gift account of choice.

For example, Great Aunt Elizabeth leaves you a collection of antique dolls. You have no interest in dolls, but realize the value of these items. You want to make a gift to MSU, but don’t have cash resources to do so at this time, you can still donate these items to MSU, who will in turn sell them through the Surplus Store. The items received would be sold through a number of different sale methods (i.e. electronic, public, confidential bid, or auction), which will be determined by the Surplus Store. Dependent on the amount of the sale, proceeds may be designated to a gift account of the donor’s choice. If the proceeds do not exceed the threshold (yet to be determined) they will be directed to the State Is Great Endowment.
